content management systems

Managing a website can be done using a so called content management system (CMS). WMIT has developed several content management systems:
  • The Manager (classic): a management system with multiple features to manage a website. This content management system was linked to new websites until 2008.
  • The Manager (flex): this content management system serves as a foundation for several tailor made websites, including some well known Dutch webshops. This Manager is highly suitable for tailor made websites.
  • The Manager (core): this is the direct successor of the first generation of WMIT content management systems. This Manager has a highly user-friendly interface and provides a solid basis for less complex websites (from 2008 to 2010).
  • The Manager (structure): this manager features the option to create new pages dynamically on a website. A fixed function can be chosen per page, for example: a news page or photo album (2008 until the end of 2009).
  • The Block Manager: this is the newest and most carefully considered Manager of all. This content management system uses the principle of blocks. It is possible to create new pages by using different kinds of building blocks: text blocks, image blocks, video blocks, etc. Pages are no longer confined to a fixed grid providing great versatility.
WMIT takes the development of content management systems very seriously. We maintain the possibility to link websites to external information systems by building CMS systems in-house.

Every website that WMIT delivers is equipped with one of the aforementioned Managers.
